About Us

Zen Recovery Home was created as an alternative to treatment models that can feel institutional or disconnected from real life. We built a structured, clinically grounded program that is intentionally small and designed to treat people as individuals — not numbers.

We combine strong medical leadership, Master’s-level clinical care, and consistent daily support within a calm, home-like setting. Our team is engaged, approachable, and focused on clear expectations and measurable progress.

Recovery requires more than abstinence. It requires stability, responsibility, and practical skills that translate into everyday life. Through individualized treatment planning, structured routines, and honest clinical work, we help clients develop coping strategies and daily structure to support continued recovery.

We embrace cultural, religious, and spiritual diversity, and our staff reflects the community we serve. Care is delivered with respect for identity, lived experience, and the realities clients return to after discharge.

Our clinical programming integrates purpose-driven recovery models to support clients in reconnecting with meaning, responsibility, and direction.

Mindfulness and experiential practices are incorporated as practical tools to strengthen awareness, emotional regulation, and intentional growth.

We are new by design — building something modern, accountable, culturally responsive, and clinically grounded.

You are not a number here.
You are a person doing difficult work.
And we take that seriously.

A Setting That Supports Recovery

Zen Recovery Home provides a clean, professionally maintained setting designed for focus and stability. We combine clinical standards with a structured, modern home environment where clients can step away from distractions and concentrate on the work of recovery.

Daily routines are consistent and intentional. Clients receive balanced, nutritious meals and live in comfortable, well-kept spaces that support rest, regulation, and accountability.

Outdoor access and a full-size pool provide opportunities for movement and physical reset. In addition to clinical programming, clients may participate in yoga, Tai Chi, guided meditation, creative arts, and supervised physical activity as practical tools to strengthen stress management, discipline, and emotional regulation.

Select wellness supports — including salt sauna sessions, red light therapy, and cryotherapy — may be available as complementary options. These supports enhance the recovery environment but do not replace clinical treatment.

How We Support your recovery

More Than Rehab

  • Recovery is not just about stopping substance use. It requires addressing mental health, past experiences, and the patterns that drive behavior. Our program is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and co-occurring capable — built to treat the full person with clarity and directness.

  • Residential care provides a focused setting for real work. Treatment is individualized, clinically grounded, and built around clear expectations. Clients develop discipline, practical coping skills, and personal responsibility while working toward steady, measurable improvement.

  • Clients receive continuous supervision and consistent support throughout treatment. From detox through residential care, medical leadership and staff presence help maintain safety, engagement, and daily accountability.

  • Individual and group sessions are grounded in evidence-informed approaches to address addiction and co-occurring mental health needs. Skill development and regulation-focused practices strengthen resilience, emotional control, and decision-making.

  • Our residential environment is professionally maintained and intentionally designed to promote structure without feeling institutional. Clean spaces, predictable routines, and a respectful atmosphere allow clients to concentrate fully on the work of recovery.

Levels of Care

Detox That Starts Strong

Detox is not simply about stopping substance use — it is about stabilizing the body safely so recovery can begin. Attempting to withdraw without medical support can be uncomfortable, unpredictable, and in some cases dangerous.

At Zen Recovery Home, withdrawal support is supervised with 24-hour staff coverage, medical oversight, and access to on-call nursing support. Our focus is safety, stabilization, and steady guidance through the earliest stage of recovery. Detox is the starting point — we ensure it is handled with care and clinical attention.

Residential Treatment, done differently

Once medically stable, clients transition into residential care designed to support meaningful change. Our program provides a calm, accountable environment where individuals can step away from outside pressures and concentrate fully on recovery.

Treatment goes beyond abstinence. Clients learn to manage stress, regulate emotions, navigate triggers, and rebuild daily stability without returning to substance use. Services include individual and group counseling, recovery education, practical skill development, and consistent accountability. Each client receives individualized care planning and preparation for what comes next.

Aftercare That’s Real Life Ready

Treatment is the beginning — continued stability requires preparation. Before discharge, we work closely with each client to develop a realistic, personalized aftercare plan aligned with their goals and circumstances.

This may include coordination with outpatient programs, step-down levels of care, recovery support groups, ongoing therapy, mental health services, legal resources when needed, and employment or housing referrals through trusted community partners. Clients leave with clarity, support, and a plan designed to carry recovery into everyday life.

Treatment Timeline

Length of stay at Zen Recovery Home is based on clinical need, progress, and readiness — not a fixed calendar. While some programs operate on a 30-day model, recovery does not follow a deadline. Many individuals benefit from longer engagement depending on their stability and goals.

The outline below provides a general example of what the first 30 days may include. Duration and pace are reviewed regularly and adjusted based on participation, progress, and discharge planning.

The First 30 Days

The early phase of treatment focuses on stabilization, daily structure, and skill development. For many individuals, this period lays the foundation for deeper clinical work and long-term recovery.

  • Two people seated having a conversation, one with hands clasped and another gesturing, both sitting on yellow chairs.

    Day 1 — Orientation & Stabilization

The first day centers on intake, medical review, and orientation to the program. Clients meet the team, review expectations, and complete comprehensive clinical and medical assessments addressing substance use history, mental health needs, safety, and immediate concerns.

If withdrawal management is needed, medically supported detox begins with continuous supervision to support safe stabilization.

  • Two women sitting and talking in a therapy session, one taking notes, the other holding a tissue, in a comfortable office setting.

    Days 2–3 — Treatment Planning

During the next several days, clients work closely with a clinician to develop an individualized treatment plan. This includes in-depth review of substance use patterns, trauma history, mental health concerns, family dynamics, and recovery goals.

Clear priorities and measurable objectives are established to guide care and set direction for the work ahead.

  • Group of people in a circle during a meeting or discussion session, focus on a woman with curly hair, soft lighting, blurred background.

    Days 4–27 — Active Treatment

Clients participate in daily programming that includes individual therapy, group sessions, recovery education, and skill-based practices. Treatment focuses on accountability, emotional regulation, coping strategies, and the development of consistent routines.

Movement, wellness practices, and balanced nutrition support physical regulation alongside ongoing clinical care.

  • Group of people outdoors, young woman laughing under a sunny sky, others in soft focus background, natural setting.

    Days 28–30 — Transition Planning

Planning for the next phase begins early and continues throughout treatment. As the initial residential period concludes, next steps may include step-down services, outpatient care, medication management, or community-based support.

Practical considerations such as housing, employment, legal responsibilities, and family dynamics are addressed while coordinating continued medical and psychiatric care.
